Clinton-Obama's Umbrella

This is my first ever blog entry for this month. Well, This is so not like me! For the first time in history of my personal blogging career, I only got one blog entry in a month! ahahaha... Blame it to my recent addiction in reading manga scans online... Also, there are not much to write about... Oh well...

Anyways, I saw this video on youtube, a spoof of the two Democrat candidates for this year's US Presidential Elections Obama and Clinton. Thank goodness to this video I decided to update my blog!

Boto Ko, Binayaran Mo! F. U.

Monday was the most awaited day for most politicians and though I'm not one of them, I, too feel excited! I can still remember the first time I had the chance to exercise my right to suffer suffrage... It was the presidential elections and it was my first time to receive an amount of money from a politician, a congressional candidate for that matter. Actually, it wasn't the first... I already received Php50 when I voted for the SK Officials in our barangay but I never really appreciated it at all. Who would?rolleyes So, the last 2004 elections I received Php150 to vote for a candidate who was running for congressman at that time. Well, I'm proud to say I didn't for him!twisted Cool isn't it? Though the person I voted lost against him (Whew! life's not fair!)

Anyway, this is one of the reasons why I was excited with the midterm elections held last Monday. I was expecting another Php150 from the re-electionist... My relative got Php150 and some had Php200 but sad to say, there was no Php150 for me!cry They must have known I didn't vote for their candidate last election!lol

Duh! as if I can be bought with only Php150! I wasn't born yesterday, Mr. Politician and family! I'm from UP and not from the school where you're father is from!twisted And in my own little way, I would start change and I hope other Ilonggos will be more aware that there are better options than what they have right now- YOU!evil I suggest you should do better than that! Voters in Iloilo City are not all dumb as what you might have expected or thought of! Jerks!

What will make me leave the Philippines by Harvey S. Yeh

I first heard about this email on television. I got interested about it so I decided to post it here. This topic is very timely for the upcoming election so, READ and REFLECT... This might help...

Dear Fellow Filipino,

Good day to all of you! Before I begin my letter... just a disclaimer, for people who know me they know that I love the Philippines very much and I am not really one who rants and complaints to high heavens about what is happening to our country and does nothing about it, in fact, I feel that at my relatively young age of 27, I have done much service to the Philippines by setting up Pathways to Higher Education which has sent more than 500 poor but deserving students to college and AHON Foundation which has already built two public elementary school libraries that have benefitted more than 3,500 students. Yet, after seeing how events in our nation have transpired the past few weeks and talking with some friends, I feel the urge to share with you my own thoughts and feelings.

Over the weekend, we saw the completion of two major political alliances for this coming Senate Elections that has just began here in the Philippines. Now we have two political forces with familiar faces nonetheless on opposite sides of the fences. On one end, you have Tito Sotto and Tessie Aquino-Oreta who were two major stalwarts of the opposition and the FPJ Campaign in 2004 hobnobbing with the woman (Pres. GMA) whom they claimed to have cheated FPJ in the last Presidential Elections. On the other side of the fence, you see Manny Villar, the former house speaker who was actually responsible for impeaching Erap now part of the United Opposition who is led by no less than... Erap himself. Now if you don't see anything wrong with this picture then you must be one of the many Filipinos who have accepted this very sad reality that there is indeed no permanent ideals that our government leaders stand up for but rather they just go where there self-interests can best be served. It is this kind of politics why I no longer wonder why good people like Ramon Magsaysay Awardee Mayor Jesse Robredo of Naga City or outstanding Bulacan Governor Josie Dela Cruz will find it hard or worse, never be elected to national positions.

1.) If former COMELEC Commissioner Virgilio Garcillano of Hello Garci fame wins in his bid to become Congressman of Bukidnon...seeking to replace a good man no less in incumbent Cong. Neric Acosta... We would really be the laughing stock of the whole world if we allow a man with the reputation of Garci to be one of our so called "Honorable Gentlemen".

2.) If Dancing Queen Tessie Aquino Oreta reclaims her seat at the Senate... I hope that all of us would still remember that dance that she did during the 2001 impeachment hearings after they voted to overrule the decision of then Chief Justice Davide... let us make sure that people like her never make it to the Senate again.

3.) If Richard Gomez becomes a senator... what does he know about making laws? We already have the likes of Bong Revilla and Lito Lapid in the Senate and their performance or lack of it would be reason enough not to elect another actor who has no prior experience in government to the distinguished halls of the Senate.

4.) If Gringo Honasan wins again.... have we not learned our lesson? I cannot believe that just because someone is charismatic then we will just elect him to become one of our senators despite the fact that he has time and again caused so much instability in our country... if we want a military junta similar to that of Thailand... then lets all vote for this guy....

5.) If Manny Pacquiao becomes Congressman of General Santos City... everybody loves Manny the Boxing Champ but Manny the Lawmaker? Lets be realistic here, Manny is our Hero alright but I think it takes more than just great boxing skills and a desire to serve to be able to make appropriate laws that would help uplift the lives of the many Filipinos who live in Poverty.

6.) If Lito Lapid wins for Mayor of Makati City... I don't like Jojo Binay as well but Lito Lapid as city mayor of the country's finance and business center?!?! And do you really think he is from Makati and has good plans for the city? The Arroyos asking someone like him to run just goes to show you how much love and concern this government has for our country.

7.) If Chavit Singson becomes a Senator, Illegal Gambling =Chavit... enough said.

Now if all of these 7 things happen during this coming elections then don't be surprised if I decide to leave this country that I love dearly. Like I said during the first part of my letter, I feel that I have done much for this country but I think its time that Filipinos become more vigilant and critical in selecting our leaders for the sake of our future and the generations that will go beyond us. So I appeal to every Filipino who asks what can I actually do for my country... Choose and vote for the right people this coming elections, huwag na tayong magpaloko sa mga kandidatong maganda lang ang jingle o gwapo lang sa mga poster. Let us choose leaders who have a good track record for service and who are genuinely committed towards serving our country.

Manindigan naman tayong lahat para sa ating Kinabukasan at para sa Kapakanan ng ating Bayan!

Thank you very much for your time in reading this letter.

Sincerely,

Harvey S. Keh

Francis "CHIZ" Escudero for SENATOR

For the past years this 37-year old politician from Sorsogon had been famous all over the country through trimedia. Francis Joseph Guevarra Escudero or Chiz was notorious of his opinions against the present administration. With this, many hated him but more people loved him. At 37 he's quite eminent to the Filipino youth. Well, I think he became more recognized by the young generation generation because most people say, he looks like Bamboo! And I agree to that! He somehow looks like Bamboo...

After seeing his campaign ad last night, I decided to browse Chiz' website. I heard from one of his interviews that as a candidate having inadequate budget, Chiz wanted to make use of every resource available. For me, its a good marketing/ campaign strategy knowing that he wanted to focus on young ones and the net is somehow an effective medium to reach his "target market". Though I believe there's no assurance, the internet can offer wide opportunities for someone like Chiz! What d'ya think? ;-)

I have also checked Chiz' Friendster account the other night. A friend, who is also a supporter mentioned that the account was only created this January 2007 and she believe it was made just for his campaign. Well, can you take it against him? I likewise believe it has something to do with his campaign. But who cares? It's another way of promoting yourself to the voters. Its just that other candidates weren't able to make use of it and opted to use the common strategy.

Know what? I just wish Francis Escudero will be lucky to win this year's election. I will definitely vote for him. It's not just because he's cute like Kobe Vidanes of Goin' Bulilit or as good looking as Bamboo Mañalac but because I was convinced by this welcome statement:

Be it strong views or opposing opinions…
Be it brilliant or outlandish schemes…

Be it truth seekers or just the plain curious
All these and more are welcome in my online office.

More than just a venue for finding out more about my public and personal life or the latest news on the campaign trail, consider this as a free zone for exchanges of ideas and insights. I appreciate hearing anything and everything from you.

Huwag kayong pumayag na manood, pumalakpak, ngumiti at kumaway sa isang gilid lamang. Sana’y makilahok kayo sa paghubog ng ating kasaysayan.

Sincerely,

See?! how can I be so stupid to be convinced by these statements I found in his site?! But kidding aside, I see him to be someone who can speak for the young generations. Besides the Senate needs someone younger with fresh ideas and opinions for the country. Pardon me, but a position in the Senate is quite vital and for me it doesn't need actors and actresses having no political background. It needs Francis Escudero!

P.S. This is a personal opinion and I wasn't paid for this... heheheh... But please let's all Say CHIZ!!! ;-)

My first entry on POLITICS

Watching the news made me think of the song Tatsulok, which I also posted here. It's quite applicable I should say: Habang may tatsulok at sila ang nasa tuktok, di matatapos itong gulo... Its really disappointing that every we would always choose the wrong candidates every election causing us undesirable political and societal conditions. I don't know if those people who voted for these ignorant and stupid politicians (who call themselves public servants) have already learned their lessons.

We would also scream for justice on streets if we don't like those who sit in th government. But would it change a thing? Rallies for me is an overused term (whether its a noun or a verb). It will not give the kind of impact we want just like what it did about 20 years ago. We should al least try to look for something new- something that will be more appropriate in our situation right now. A way that will make use of all the resources we have. But the most important thing is for us to start within ourselves. That simply means, get the money and vote for the person you believe in.

Do I make sense? I wish! I need to finish this before seven. Don't worry if I don't make sense now, I know I will be next time! LOL
