Ikalawang Yugto- Rico Blanco's Back

I was downloading a song from a website awhile ago when something caught my attention. There was this song entitled Yugto from the upcoming new album of Rico Blanco, the ex-Rivermaya's vocalist who left his band a year ago. So, does this mean Rico will be back in the local music scene? If he will, then that would be great. He's a very good songwriter and I like most of his songs not to mention the fact that my friend Michelle will be ecstatic to hear about this. She admire Rico a lot.

I decided to download the song on my own satisfaction just to check if its nice. To my surprice the lyrics is quite interesting. As for me, I think the song is a giveaway of the reason why he left a year ago. I don't know... Actually, I'm not that sure about it. Perhaps I'm just a malicious person that's why I mention this kind of things.

Oh, well. I decided to transcribe the lyrics of the song which is quite stupid coz I forgot to just search for it on google (Duh me!). Whatever it is, I'm still proud to say that I got 95% of the lyrics correctly. Now, I can pursue a medical transcription career if I'm bored with my current job. lol

I'm having a flu for the second time in one month and it sucks! It sucks because I can't sleep the way I used to and I had to buy another roll tissue paper because of it! But this entry won't be about my stupid flu. Who would even get interested with my runny nose anyway? Every one of us has his own experiences about this. Just like Edward- he used to have runny nose every month! heheheh... Just kidding...

On the serious note, I decided to write this entry to share my feelings about the news that Rico Blanco, the Rivermaya frontman will be leaving the band. I first heard it on Myx news early tonight. It was really surprising coz I they're starting to be known internationally and then, all of a sudden he'll be leaving the band! Jeez... I really feel bad about it... They're one of my favorite bands and Rico, he's really a good songwriter. I do love his songs...

Yes, this is not a joke. The band's manager said this wasn't just a gimik forthe band to be talked about. So, it was true. Rico even confirmed it through his multiply site, A MILLION FLAMES that he's really leaving the group... The good news is, the band won't be totally gone and Rico asks the fans to keep supporting the group.

My friend Michelle will surely feel depressed after hearing all of this. As for me, man! This is sooo goddamn disappointing! I never really had the chance to watch them perform live. If I only knew he's leaving, I should have watched Rivermaya when they last came here last March.

Sigh. I just wanna wish him all the love luck in the world and best things in life when he leaves the limelight... (nax.. feeling close)


And to Rico, Psst... Thanks for rocking our lives!

Srambled B R A I N for Sale!

whew! I miss my blog! An tagal ko nang hindi nakapost dito. Wala kasing news sa pinakamamahal kong banda, ang Bamboo! (sigh. How sad...) Anyway, ano ba ang lastest news ngayon sa blog ko? Well, sa tagal ng panahong nagpost ako about Bamboo's version of Probinsyana, yesterday I got another comment about the legality issue ata yun... Maraming negative comments ata regarding this song. According to some people the band never asked permission to the original composer for the use of Probinsyana though I've watched the band thanking Anak Bayan for the song. Well, probably these some people thought that they should pay respect to the composer by perhaps asking permission to 'em personally. Aaay! ewan... As a fan nakakainis na kung minsan... If they think that the legalities of the song were not met by the band, then maybe they can take legal actions to solve this problem.

Anyway, I'll temporarily avoid talking about Bamboo in this post since they' re thousand miles away from me right now... heheheh

I've been video streaming on youtube awhile ago and I stumble upon Rivermaya's new video- Bali Song which I've been looking for weeks now. I believe this music was for Asian release knowing that the video itself is really good. I remember watching it first on mtv and it made me really proud knowing that other people besides us Filipinos are likewise watching it.

Really, it's a good feeling that we Filipinos are starting to conquer the world through music! Years ago, we only watch Taiwanese, Korean, Chinese artists on MTv. Now, its different and I know Filipino artist will go a long way coz I know for a fact we are far much better that artists from other countries (bias! ahahah)...

HATS off to all FILIPINOS!!!

Baskog ang MAYA

Its been awhile since I tried to listened to this song. I can still remember when it first came out, it was the theme song of the ABS-CBN's tv series SPIRITS. Just like the others, I immediately fell in love with the song and during that time, I would sing it almost everyday. Well, what can I say? I just love to sing (of course)period.

Today, I went through this video again and unlike before, the chills were far more different. I love this specific video not just because of the song itself but the feeling of pride it has caused me or perhaps every other Filipino. Rivermaya, being the first Filipino artist to perform in this event (MTV Asia Video Music Awards 2006) and was applauded by famous people in the industry, it will definitely make you proud!

This year I have a feeling that my favorite BAMBOO will also be standing on stage performing for Asia! As a Filipino, I can't wait for that time to come when Asia will be captivated and shocked of how superb our artists are!
